IMPaCT-Data is the Data Science pillar of IMPaCT (Infrastructure for Precision Medicine associated with Science and Technology) that is oriented towards the design, development, and implementation of a system for the storage, management, and analysis of clinical, molecular (especially genetic) and medical imaging data.
To this end, its mission is to develop the IMPaCT Digital Platform (PDI, for its initials in Spanish), a tool allowing controlled access to data and computational resources which will be made available to all research staff within the Spanish National Health System.
The platform will allow researchers to process and analyze their data to answer scientific questions, and facilitate data re-use for secondary research.
All development is carried out in coordination with the other IMPaCT pillars and is based on national and European standards, as well as the new European Health Data Space (EHDS) regulations.
To create an infrastructure that allows Spanish researchers to answer scientific questions with a population-level perspective based on pseudo-anonymized individual data.
The main objective of IMPaCT-Data 2 – PDI is the implementation of a sustainable digital platform that enables the integration and federated management of Clinical, Genomic, Molecular, and Medical Imaging Data, in order to provide an advanced data analysis environment with the high computational capabilities necessary for precision medicine, demonstrating its utility through use cases and expanding the resources available in the IMPaCT-Cohorte pillar of ISCIII.
This objective is broken down into the following technical objectives.
Establish an access point (website) to the data analysis environment, including a catalog of tools, resources, guides and recommendations to facilitate the use of this environment.
To establish the necessary requirements for the deployment of analysis tools, including advanced statistical analysis tools and Artificial Intelligence.
To establish a federated network architecture associated with the IMPaCT platform, between at least 5 nodes, which allows the analysis of data in a non-centralized way and in accordance with the relevant European methodology.
To demonstrate the usefulness of the platform for a representative set of Precision Medicine Projects (PMP), IMPaCT-Genómica, and IMPaCT-Cohorte, including their associated projects.
To manage and coordinate project activities to ensure the development, deployment, and implementation of the platform, including communication and dissemination activities, coordination with European initiatives, sustainability, and integration of the sex and gender dimension.
We are currently working on the second project of the IMPaCT-Data pillar: IMPaCT-Data 2 - PDI (PMP24/00024). You can see information about the first IMPaCT-Data (IMP/00019) project in the following link: See the objectives for IMPaCT-Data (IMP/00019).
